An exhibit titled A Child’s View from Gaza is currently on display at the University of Ottawa’s Café Alt and features artwork by child survivors of the 22-day assault on Gaza by the Israeli military in the winter of 2008-09.

“[Café Alt] is one of the businesses I want to see improve a lot because it fills a unique sort of niche on campus for students who may not want to drink at the bar or be the party type of people,” said Adam Gilani.

Students who stopped by Café Alt for a quick cup of coffee or a comfortable place to study on Oct. 31 were surprised to find Juno-nominated folk artist Craig Cardiff performing live.

The uOttawa Poetry Slam Club hosts monthly bilingual open mic nights that encourage poets new and old to come out and share their poetry in a comfortable and accessible environment.
