The fact that the SFUO either has no policy on executive spending, or has one so obscure that a major auditing firm couldn’t track it down is a glaring issue. No matter what, it’s unacceptable to have a student federation with no policy to control spending by the executive.

The union wrote that “it is troubling that the Union was told during collective bargaining that the maximum wage increase Management could give to its part-time employees was $0.17 per hour (which represents a 1.7% increase), when the SFUO clearly had $37,200 (the total cost of the proposed Executive members’ raise) available for additional wage increases.”
While everyone is proposing grandiose ideas to fix the student federation, we might as well talk about some simple structural changes that will make further reform easier.
