These services were voted in by students, for students, and for the most part are run by students. In threatening the stability of these services, the Ford government is ignoring the democratic means through which these services came to be.

It’s easy to be overwhelmed during your studies. It’s so common in fact that the services at the University of Ottawa are often overwhelmed with students trying to access help.

Local food also seems to always pack a flavourful punch incomparable to the imported and GMO products we find at grocery stores. Perhaps it’s merely a psychological effect, but consuming local food usually leaves me more satisfied and full, not to mention with a heightened sense of moral contentment.

One in 10 students on the University of Ottawa’s campus have used the Student Federation of the University of Ottawa’s (SFUO) Food Bank, according to recent statistics released by the SFUO.
