The construction, however inconvenient, is necessary, and the university should be applauded for trying to improve our campus’ infrastructure.
Learning Centre
Back in 2012, it seemed like e-learning was going to set the world of academia on fire. That never happend, so what does web based learning look like today.
The university also released its master plan last year, detailing all the major projects it plans to undertake in the next few decades.
“The Learning Centre will become the new place where students congregate on campus,” said Christian Detellier, vice-president, academic and provost.
Historically, the biggest priority of any modern university has been research and a professor’s value has been in what new research they generate, not their capabilities as an instructor.
“The Learning Centre will provide much-needed state of the art classroom facilities and attractive study spaces to our growing and ever-evolving student population,” said Rachel Ouellette, chief of staff of the office of the vice-president academic and provost. The new study spaces will seat more than 800 students.
