U of O study shines light on violence against women

Research by University of Ottawa Professor Holly Johnson found that a number of women who reported sexual violence were deterred by the Ottawa Police’s response to violence against women. Johnson’s study was featured during the Shine the Light campaign, which aims to raise awareness of violence against women, at city hall on Nov. 4.

U of O grad says she can have out-of-body experiences

A former University of Ottawa student says she can trigger out-of-body experiences at will. The 24-year-old psychology grad approached her professor after a lecture on the phenomenon in 2012, claiming it was a regular experience for her and that she “thought everybody could do that.”

Neighbourhood study website overhauled

THE OTTAWA NEIGHBOURHOOD Study (ONS), a program created to provide easy access to various statistics and information concerning Ottawa’s 108 neighbourhoods has overhauled its website in order to make it more accessible and interactive.
