Ottawa-Vanier MP Mona Fortier announced the awarding of a $109 million grant for the University of Ottawa’s new Brain-Heart Interconnectome research project, one of the largest awarded grants in the University’s history.

The University of Ottawa’s Heart Institute released false data which was quickly picked up by vaccine hesitant groups to validate false beliefs that the COVID-19 vaccines are highly deadly.
The University of Ottawa Heart Institute is among the 19 hospitals, long-term care and retirement homes across the city that are reporting outbreaks of COVID-19, according to Ottawa Public Health. As of Monday, two patients at the heart institute had tested positive for the virus and one patient had died.
Dr. Wilbert Keon died at 83 on Apr. 7.
The Heart Institute hopes to save time for patients by having an accessible link to the emergency room at the hospital, as well as a drop off bay for ambulances in front of the new critical care tower.
