A 16-year-old boy was shot in the back near Besserer and Chapel Streets in Sandy Hill around 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 9.

According to the CBC, the boy was taken to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario with “traumatic injuries.” There have been no updates on his condition at the time of publication.

​”The victim appears to have been by himself,” Inspector John Medeiros told the CBC. “I don’t have any information to determine motive at this point.”

Police are looking for at least three males in connection with the attack in Sandy Hill. 

Not long after the first incident came a second shooting at about 5:30 in Ottawa’s west end, near Merivale and Baseline Roads. Ottawa police are searching for two suspects involved in the Monday night assault.
