Incident occurred in afternoon of Oct. 10

On Oct. 10 an incident occurred with an elevator in the University of Ottawa Leblanc residence. According to Isabelle Mailloux-Pulkinghorn, acting manager at U of O media relations, a student was injured in the incident and was transported and treated at an Ottawa hospital.

The university confirmed that the elevator is currently out of service pending an investigation into what happened.

According to the Ottawa Police Service, no emergency call was received from the Leblanc residence.

In an email to the Fulcrum, the university said, “the health and safety of our students is the university’s main priority.”
