The Gee-Gees men’s hockey team beat the Concordia Stingers 7-2 on Saturday night to sweep their best of three series. With the win, the Gees qualified for the USports national championships in Halifax later this month and will have a shot at the Queen’s Cup later this week.

Gee-Gees defenceman Jean-Robin Mantha was back on the ice for the first time since the 2017-18 season on Sunday night. Mantha, who’s been fighting testicular cancer for the last year and a half, looked to bring the Gee-Gees a win against the RMC Paladins.

Coming off a tough 4-3 shootout loss last week to the Concordia Stingers, the Gee-Gees looked to bounce back at home.
“I hope I score many more goals, but it’s more the timing of those that counts to me.”
The red horses took on the Carleton Ravens at Minto Sports Complex for their fourth and last meeting of the year.
“We just played our style, skated and worked hard. We were confident … that we would find a way to get back into the game.”
Entering the game, the Gee-Gees were undefeated in regulation, sitting in first place in the OUA with a record of 9-0-1, while Carleton sat in fifth with a weaker 6-3-2 record.
