Hit reality show Boardashians rebranded with new cast

Following two successful seasons of the hit reality series Keeping Up with the Boardashians, which chronicles the antics of the Student Federation of the University of Ottawa (SFUO), and a brief hiatus last December following a mishap with fireworks, MTV has officially announced that it will be terminating its contract with the SFUO. Longtime supporters have nothing to fear, however, as the show has now been picked up by CBS as a sitcom and will be rebranded as Two and a Half Execs.

The new series will follow the remaining executives—Paige Table and Waduma Fais, along with Keia Moumouni-Tchouassi in a supporting role—as they single-handedly attempt to operate the student union following allegations of fraud against their former colleagues this summer.

A teaser of the series premiere shows Table and Fais sitting alone in the empty boardroom, piles of paper littering the room, as they bounce ideas off each other for an upcoming charity fundraiser at the university.

“We could do an outdoor carnival!” said Fais, eagerly rubbing her hands together. “A dunk tank, face painting, live music … we could host it in the concrete space outside FSS!”

Table rolled her eyes. “Waduma, it’s the middle of fall. No one will want to go to a carnival in this weather. This is Ottawa, after all.” A pre-recorded laugh track played in the background. Nothing was worth laughing at.

Fais sighed. “You’re right, you’re right. Hey, Keila, what do you think?”

Moumouni-Tchouassi popped her head through the door. “To be honest, I’m not sure students will even want to come to a fundraiser in the first place. I mean, the last guy we had in here blew all their money on glasses and a haircut. Both of which were mediocre at best, in my opinion.” Another dismal laugh track. “Besides, don’t you have more important things to do, like meet the candidates for our new executive?”

“I completely forgot! Thanks for reminding me,” said Table. “I heard Oprah was planning on running for a position, we can’t be late!”

However, when the two execs arrived at the university centre, they saw that it was empty. No one was running for the SFUO.

In an interview with the Tomato, Table and Fais—starring as themselves—shared their hopes for the new series and ultimately why they decided to rebrand under the new network.

“The Boardashians was great, but there was too much drama,” said Fais. “We wanted to get out of a work environment that was full of harassment and intimidation. It was too toxic.”

Table added, “the fact that everything on the old show was too outrageous to be true, it made sense to switch over to a sitcom.”

According to the cast, Two and a Half Execs will include all the familiar SFUO shenanigans that students and viewers are used to, minus the drama of reality television. This is student politics, after all.

Teasing at one of the episodes, Table added, “there are a couple scenes where Waduma and I go to test restaurants. It’s definitely some of the best stuff this season.”

When asked about their former cast members, the co-stars simply shrugged. “The last I heard, Vanessa Dorislayin’ had opened a catering company and Richie Lachic had moved to Le Nordik spa full time,” said Wais. “He made a killing from the old show. At least, I think that’s where he got the money.”

Two and a Half Execs premieres on Monday, Nov. 12th at 7 p.m. on CBS.
