A full return to campus life has been delayed until Jan. 31. It is possible it could be further delayed.
“We remain hopeful that the defendants will now engage us in meaningful settlement discussions,” said Sean Brown, one of the lawyers for the plaintiffs and a senior partner at Flaherty McCarthy LLP, to the Fulcrum.
“It’ll be my first time living away from home on my own. But all of the exciting parts of that are taken away, because I’m worried about if I’ll find a place,” said second-year student Erin Peter.

Employees at the Garderie Bernadette Child Care Centre on campus have decided to begin unionization efforts after the centre’s Board of Directors failed to properly address their issues and concerns.
The school in Kitigan Zibi has been in operation since 1980 and awarding high school diplomas since 1985.
“What I actually found on Russell Ave was closer to a small riot,” said first-year student Greg Coleman.
Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) released its 2022 ranking of universities with the University of Ottawa in the 230th spot. The positioning is 49 positions above the university’s 2021 rankings of 279.
The grounds of the motion for the proposed class proceeding allege, “[t]he University of Ottawa received at least two complaints in or about 1995 by former patients of Nadon, regarding his inappropriate conduct of a sexual nature. The University of Ottawa failed to take appropriate steps to prevent the improper conduct from occurring again, including requiring the dismissal of Nadon from the UOHS.”
“These behaviours are unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Investigators have been assigned to identify anyone who committed crimes. The OPS will also work with the University of Ottawa and Carleton University staff where students from those were involved in these behaviours,” wrote OPS in a press release.
Since the shift to virtual classes, cases of academic fraud have increased due to proctoring limitations for tests and exams, and increased use of the internet for all academic activities.
In theory, professors are supposed to plan and adapt their courses to make sure students who are in both learning spheres get the same level of attention and education. Nevertheless, this has not always been the case and the university has taken its fair share of flak from both students and professors.
