Making downtown easier to manage for cyclists and others who don’t commute by car makes it easier for more people to come into and enjoy downtown. This means more money being spent by Ottawa consumers, which allows businesses to grow and become better, in turn providing more incentives for people to come downtown.
Instead of working slowly and piecemeal towards the end goal of free higher education, let’s just skip right to it and give more Canadians the chance to sharpen their minds. In the end, it will be more than worth it for our nation.

Limiting grad students’ right to work hampers the ability of many to pursue graduate degrees as a whole. The policy may be intended to ensure that students focus on their academics, but it also nearly guarantees that more students take on higher levels of student debt, as they are hamstrung in their ability to fund their own education.
More should be done to integrate a hands-on research experience with theory in classes. With this type of approach, it’s not necessary to choose between two inherently connected aspects of university.
Is it OK to withhold information under oath because you’re embarrassed? No, but is it ok to overlook the fact these women chose solely to withhold information that doesn’t fit the ‘socially valid’ abuse victim profile? Certainly not.
It is unreasonable to expect every moment of a traumatic event to be remembered in perfect detail, because that simply isn’t how the mind works. Especially if you consider that these assaults allegedly occurred up to 12 years ago, and these women probably tried their best to forget them at that time.

I am hopeful that one day these women won’t have to feel uncomfortable raising their voices about this topic. I am hopeful that FGM will one day be a thing of the past. Then, women around the world will have one more reason to celebrate on International Women’s Day.
