On May 15 2024, organizers of the encampment at the University of Ottawa held a press conference to give updates on talks with the U of O administration. Speakers in order of speaking: Layan Ibrahim for Palestinian Student Association Ottawa (PSA), Bessan Jasser of Students for Justice in Palestine Carleton (SJP), Susan Spronk from Association of Professors of the University of Ottawa(APUO), Nir Hagigi of International Jewish voice Carleton (IJV), and Sumayya Kheireddine of INSAF Ottawa.

UPDATE: We spoke with sit-in organizers from INSAF uOttawa, Professor Mythili Rajiva, and MPP Joel Harden at today’s sit-in, still occurring at the University of Ottawa’s Tabaret Lawn.

INSAF has now extended the sit-in to continue from 12-9PM every day until Friday, May 3rd.
