The University of  Ottawa is looking to defend its four-year RecycleMania winning streak this month.

RecycleMania is an international competition that challenges over 600 universities and colleges worldwide to produce the least amount of waste while recycling the most per person.

A number of RecycleMania events have already taken place since the challenge began in early February, but there’s still plenty to look forward to. On March 19, students can take part in a field trip led by the Office of Campus Sustainability, which will teach them how to buy in bulk, thereby producing less waste.

RecycleMania’s last activity is on March 28 with a guerilla recycling blitz that involves a full moon, dark hoodies, and a three hour time commitment.

Anyone interested in participating in RecycleMania can visit www.sustainable.uottawa.ca or the RecycleMania 2013 Facebook page for more details.
