The Board of Governors met on Sept. 24 to discuss the past year’s budget, this year’s budget, the future of Brooks residence, Ontario’s free speech policy, and cannabis legislation on campus. At the end, the board went in camera to discuss the SFUO.
Brooks residence
The recent loss of the Brooks residence is unfortunate, but it has given the university an opportunity to fix a problem that desperately needs to be addressed: modernization of the U of O’s arts building.
The University of Ottawa’s Brooks residence closed its doors this September just as the school year began.
Housing services allegedly denied student’s request to terminate lease.
The construction, however inconvenient, is necessary, and the university should be applauded for trying to improve our campus’ infrastructure.
