Retired U of O English professor Gerald Lynch has released his eighth novel: an academic satire set at a fictional version of the University of Ottawa.
We caught up with U of O professor Dr. Gerald Lynch to answer a few questions on his upcoming mystery novel, The Dying Detective.
The novel is set in a near-future Ottawa in which corporations are phasing out the public sector, and conspiracies abound. Following the death of the CEO of the titular Omphalos Corporation, Detective Beldon seeks to find the killer, driven by a suspicion that the company is connected to the events of the previous novel.
The real intrigue of Missing Children, lies not in the whereabouts of the protagonist’s daughter, Shawn, who returns home unharmed, but in what caused her disappearance, and whether it’s related to the increasing number of children going missing from Troutstream.
