In an interview with the Fulcrum, history professor Jan Grabowski discussed his research of falsified Wikipedia editing, the phenomenon of Holocaust distortion, and entering his 30th year of teaching.

“It’s the whole historical profession that is on trial here,” said U of O history department chair, Damien-Claude Bélanger.
The nationalist Law and Justice party — which the PLAD aligns itself with — passed a bill in February that made it illegal to claim Poland had any official role in the Holocaust, punishable by a fine and up to three years in prison. Although the law was quickly met with challenges from constitutional courts and the international community, it demonstrates the party’s hardline policy on defending Poland’s historical reputation.
On Sept. 30, Łukasz Weremiuk, chargé d’affaires of the Polish Embassy in Ottawa, submitted an article to Maclean’s to refute a separate item written by Jan Grabowski, a history professor at the University of Ottawa.
