Calin Rovinescu, president and chief executive officer of Air Canada, was named as the university’s 14th chancellor on Nov. 9. The chancellor is the titular head of the university, and represents it in a number of functions and events.

The University of Ottawa has announced that Michaelle Jean is stepping down as chancellor of the University of Ottawa, due to her “extensive new responsibilities” as secretary-general of La Francophonie.
The Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, who currently serves as chancellor of the University of Ottawa, has been named honorary chair of the summer university on francophone studies, hosted by the U of O.
