“Deciding to retire has been one of the most difficult decisions of my life. I always say family comes first and I need to live up to my own words. I am very proud of what we have all accomplished to make this team into a national championship contender and more importantly, a great place to play,” said Sparks, in a press release.
The Gee-Gee swimming teams had an exceptional weekend Feb. 5–7 at the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) championships, where the men finished fourth and the women in fifth.
“It is a very elite competition as it is intended for those who have aspirations to one day compete for Canada,” she said. And based on the results of her national showing, and from the upcoming NRCS, Fogarty may be able to do just that.
