Ranging in tone from straight horror to the intentionally campy, the movies didn’t shy away from cringe-inducing violence, graphic nudity, experimental plots, and outright bizarre content.

World Away was filmed and created in Toronto, and follows a young woman named Quinn who participates in an experimental one-way trip to Mars. The web series follows her as she says goodbye to people close to her and confronts their contrasting opinions on her trip, which inevitably will end her life on Earth.
The Conference on Canadian Content in Speculative Arts and Literature will take place from Sept. 21–23, with a theme of “the cutting edge of science fiction, horror, and fantasy.
