Six athletes from the University of Ottawa were part of the U23 national ultimate team’s first tournament of the year on the weekend of Feb. 28.
Now a Gee-Gee alum, set to graduate in the spring in psychology and philosophy, Biocchi now trains solo. He’s self-motivated every day to overcome hard workouts and bad races. His training is intense and requires every last bit of focus to perform at his highest level during practice.
“It’s such a big deal to get to wear the red and white, to get to put a maple leaf on your oars, to hear ‘go Canada!’ as you race down the course,” said Pelham.
