On the 30th anniversary of the Montreal Massacre, hundreds attended the U of O’s vigil outside of the STEM Complex on Friday. The school was one of 14 in the country to shine a beam of light into the sky to remember the 14 victims, whose names were projected onto the exterior of the building.
Following the Jan. 29 shooting of six Muslim men at a mosque in Québec City, staff, faculty members, and students at the University of Ottawa gathered in solidarity and to pay their respects.
On Nov. 21, students at the University of Ottawa took part in a candlelight vigil, held on the steps of the university centre overlooking the Morisset Terrace. The vigil featured many speakers who discussed the violence that has taken place in Gaza in the past few weeks.
