What to see and when to see it

RBC Royal Bank Bluesfest (July 3–13): According to Billboard, Bluesfest is one of the top 10 music festivals in the world. As Ottawa’s landmark summer event, music fans come together to watch countless artists from a variety of genres including country, pop, hip hop, and blues. This year’s lineup consists of Lady Gaga, Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum, The Killers, Queens of the Stone Age, Snoop Dog (aka Snoop Lion), and ZEDD.
Osheaga Music and Arts Festival (August 1-3): What makes Osheaga great are the reasonably priced tickets, close proximity, and amazing lineup. Since it was originally held in 2006, Osheaga has become one of the leading annual events in Montreal. Located at Parc Jean Drapeau, the three day festival hosts all types of music genres with an emphasis on alternative. This year Outkast, Jack White, Arctic Monkeys, and Lorde will be headlining the event.
Ottawa Folk Festival (September 10-14): Ottawa Folk Fest is a great way to promote a sense of community. Situated in Hog’s Back Park, the five day celebration includes musical performances, music workshops, and beer gardens. This year’s lineup is composed of notable artists such as Foster the People, Lorde, Selena Ryder, J. Cole, The Wiggles, and Neutral Milk Hotel.
