Local restaurants have been forced to adapt to a number of stringent regulations to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 as they reopen in stage two of Ontario’s reopening plan. For some though, these regulations seem exaggerated and restrictive as restaurants aren’t allowed to open their inside dining area and are thus dependent on the weather and cannot guarantee shifts to a number of their employees notably servers.

The University of Ottawa has advised all students and faculty members to restrain from drinking water on campus after it found “elevated levels of bacteria in potable water” at a number of locations on the main U of O campus.

“He is already a part of our Gee-Gees family. He brings what we wanted – strong leadership, great communications skills, and the ability to rally and unite the many stakeholders that form a large program like football. We are excited for the future,” said Sue Hylland director of Varsity Athletics

The University of Ottawa will hold its 2020 spring convocation online announced the University on Tuesday in an email sent to students who are set to graduate in June. The ceremonies will start on June 15 and will last for a week with students from all 10 U of O faculties set to graduate.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Wednesday morning that applications will open on Friday at 6 a.m. for the Canadian Emergency Student Benefit. Students who are eligible for the CESB will be able to apply through the CRA website and receive $1,250 every four weeks from May to August.

The University of Ottawa has announced that it will offer courses online in the fall for international and Canadian students who are unable to make it to campus in the fall. There will be, however, some exceptions for courses that require students to be physically present in class to complete the course’s academic requirements.
