The reality is, Israel, like every single country in the world—including Canada and the United States—is imperfect. A nation always has room to improve, from its justice system to its economic equality to its treatment of minorities; and Israel is no exception to that.

n co-operation with the CIS, the CFL Draft offers a sort of security blanket for its Canadian college draftees. It’s a safeguard, so to speak, which allows for CFL-drafted Canadian collegiate athletes to return to university even after being drafted, if they so choose, and continue playing football at the CIS level.

Distasteful or not, the painting does not elicit hate and thus falls under the fundamental freedom of expression protected by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms; so nothing can come of Srebrnik’s—or anyone’s—desire to take it down. It’s a non-issue.
