The Gee-Gees men’s basketball team are now 13-5 on the season heading into the 2019 Capital Hoops Classic.

The game got off to a quick start. Less than 15 seconds in, U of O guard Gage Sabean opened up the scoring on a jump-shot, prompting an immediate response from Guelph to tie it 20 seconds later.
The Nov. 24-25 weekend offered up an exciting series of back-to-back home games, as the Gee-Gees men tackled two tough teams from the OUA West division.
While the women’s soccer squad was winning the gold, the Gee-Gees continued their success elsewhere, with both basketball teams picking up a pair of wins on the road the weekend of Nov. 9-10.
While his time with the Garnet and Grey may be over, Pierre-Charles isn’t done with basketball yet. He’s currently looking into where he’s going to play next.

This last season, the lockdown defender was called on to be the heart and soul of the Gees’ system. He started all 17 games that he participated in and averaged 14.9 points a game to go along with an incredible, career-high 2.9 steals per contest.
Despite some disappointing team finishes, the standout individual performances of Gee-Gees athletes this year can’t be overshadowed.

The Gees took the first step towards a national title on Saturday, Feb. 25 when they faced off against the Laurentian Voyageurs in the OUA quarterfinal.
The University of Ottawa men’s basketball team traveled to Toronto and Kingston to face off against York University and Queen’s University. The Gee-Gees came away with two victories despite a lackluster start to the weekend.
Both the men’s and women’s teams were looking to avenge losses to Carleton earlier this season, but unfortunately retribution would have to wait.
