As one of the most dangerous scoring threats to ever don the garnet and grey, Francki was part of the veteran core of Gee-Gees teams that were perennial national championship contenders.

The game was even more important for the Gee-Gees as they said goodbye to their star seniors—Cynthia Leblanc, Julia Francki, and Pilar Khoury along with role players Mélissa Pesant, and Elisabeth Wong.
After playing staunch defence for the final 15 minutes, the Gees secured their trip to the OUA final four.
The close 2-1 victory secured a playoff berth for the Gees, as they currently sit atop the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) East division with just three regular season games to go.
The Gees are still undefeated in the 2015 season, topping the OUA East with an impressive 9-0-3 record.
The lack of scoring didn’t mean there were a lack of opportunities, in fact the fast-paced match saw no end in offensive plays for both teams. However, solid defence and great performances from both goalkeepers kept the ball out of the nets.
The University of Ottawa women’s soccer team battled through heat, humidity, and injuries to get their first two wins of the season in back-to-back matches against the Nipissing Lakers, and Laurentian Voyageurs.
The Gee-Gees were playing somewhat hobbled, with multiple injuries stemming from last year’s lengthy playoff run. Talent still exists in this Gee-Gees squad, but it’ll take time for this year’s team to click.

With the last four games of the season played in only nine days, the Gee-Gees women’s soccer team has shown they can hold onto a winning streak.
“Our defence is getting better and our forwards are clicking, and definitely winning helps the team morale,” said Francki.
After a disappointing end of the season last year when they were eliminated in the quarterfinals by the Queen’s Gaels in penalty kicks, the Gee-Gees women’s soccer team is off to a good start.
The Ottawa Sports Awards (OSAs) recognize amateur athletes as well as senior and veteran coaching members for excellence in their respective domains in sport, and have been operating annually since 1953.
MEET CENTRE-MIDFIELDER Julia Francki, a third-year communications student, and forward Lili Wong, a fourth-year human kinetics student; both play for the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees women’s varsity soccer team. These two dynamic women have a great friendship on and off the pitch that began due in part to their love of soccer.
