It’s been more than a week now since the University of Ottawa’s support staff (PSUO-SSUO) went on strike following the breakdown of mediated talks with the University of Ottawa on Oct.15. The union wrote that “it is troubling that the Union was told during collective bargaining that the maximum wage increase Management could give to its part-time employees was $0.17 per hour (which represents a 1.7% increase), when the SFUO clearly had $37,200 (the total cost of the proposed Executive members’ raise) available for additional wage increases.”

If a motion with legal bearing can be shared in a BOA meeting, there is no legal reason it can’t be shared outside of it, since these kinds of gatherings are open to the public.
Given the potential benefits of the technology, Canada needs to think big and embrace the potential of drones, similar to what our neighbours to the south are doing.
