Before heading out, I told my mom I was going to Sexapalooza, explaining that it’s something like the annual auto show, but with sex. She was startled, but not surprised.

No one likes having sex more than bonobo monkeys. They’re the nymphomaniacs of the animal kingdom, using almost any social interaction as an excuse to have sex, including greetings, forming social bonds, and resolving conflict.

Similar to a tattoo, writing about sex seems like it would stick with you forever. Once it’s been published, it’s out there for the world to see. You’re not going to get a government job or be in a position of the utmost political importance if you have a tattoo across your forehead. It’s the same assumption for writing something a little sexy.

The University of Ottawa Liberty Society erected a wall of free speech Feb. 5–6 in response to the U of O’s failing grade on a free expression index released in October. The wall was intended to be an exercise in free speech for all students, but was covered with remarks from the Revolutionary Student Movement (RSM), formerly called the Marxist Students’ Association.

Tabaret Hall’s construction was completed to reveal a new student lounge on Jan 20. Separated into three rooms on the first floor, the space seats close to 150 students and comes equipped with fireplaces, microwaves, sofas, chairs, and counters with plugs for laptops.

The message? Unless you’re a professional with a large fan base that can increase viewership of the games, your accomplishments somehow mean less. Although I doubt any of us truly think this way, it’s sadly the underlying message when all the attention is given to the pros.
