The Gee-Gees men’s basketball team took on the Ryerson Rams on Saturday night in what was a blowout in favour of the Gees. The 75-54 win sends Ottawa to the OUA semifinals, where they’ll take on the Carleton Ravens for their third meeting of the season.
While they would emerge with a win in their first game, the season came to an end the following Saturday following a round two loss to the Ryerson Rams.

The Gee-Gees men’s basketball team are now 13-5 on the season heading into the 2019 Capital Hoops Classic.
“Dominant” was how Gee-Gees head coach Steve Johnson described his team’s performance following their 4-0 win in women’s soccer action on Oct. 7 against the Ryerson Rams.
It was yet another great weekend for the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees women’s soccer team, as they recorded two win on Sept. 8-9 to hold first place in the OUA conference with a record of 5-0-1.
The Gees have shown a lot of promise early in the season, and should continue to get better as their young core continues to gain experience.
The Gees may have been the favourite heading into the gold medal match on their home floor, but instead it ended in a 66-60 upset.

The Gees and the Rams were both nationally ranked teams coming in and both battled for every point during the match. The game came down to the final seconds, during which the Gees pulled away with one final basket to secure the win.
Saturday night was a night to remember for the Gee-Gees men’s basketball team. A 79–78 win in a semifinal game in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) playoff against rival Ryerson Rams would become the most memorable game this season
“Our response was two weeks of training,” said Gees-Gees head coach Lionel Woods, explaining their strategy after previously losing to Ryerson. “This match was the result of our response; we got together, talked about it together, and figured it out together.”
