Addressing stress with nature

Doctors can now prescribe patients visits to the Canadian Museum of Nature. Spending time in nature effectively reduces your stress, and this applies to the Canadian Museum of Nature too.

The Canadian Museum of Nature is a wonderful and affordable place to visit. Located in downtown Ottawa, the nature displays at this museum will be a relaxing and fun time. Whether you go with your friends or by yourself, you will appreciate the scenery and the diverse natural exhibitions that the museum has to offer.

When I walked around the museum, I saw so many animals as well as information about them, such as their habitat. First, I made a stop at the owl exhibition named ‘Owls Rendez-Vous’. I saw different species such as a Barred owl, a Great Horned owl, a Eurasian Eagle-Owl, a Snowy owl, and a bald eagle.

As I observed each owl, I felt so calm. I loved looking at what they were doing, and I found them extremely cute. This made me feel really happy. I especially like the bald eagle, majestically standing upright, looking at the horizon.

Next, I went to the dinosaur exhibition, named ‘The Fossil Gallery’. I saw many different dinosaurs and skeletons. It made me feel as if I was going through time, as if I was time traveling, and seeing ancient animals. Next, I made a stop at the mammal gallery where there were many statues of different mammals. I learned a lot about them.

The museum’s water gallery was also very interesting. I saw many examples of living creatures that live in the ocean such as sponges. Finally, I went to a special exhibition in the museum about rainforest animals called ‘Under the Canopy’.

Just like the owl exhibition, the animals were alive. I got to see snakes, lizards, insects, frogs, and a sloth! I loved observing the sloth and it gave me such comfort. It was so relaxing to see the sloth and it was the best part of my entire experience at the nature museum.

The way the museum is advertised is really the way I felt my experience was. It was filled with nature and animals. It was fun, interactive, and full of life. Before my visit, I was kind of stressed out. After my visit, I was so much more relaxed because of all the animals I saw and how cute I found them. I was very pleased with my experience and think it is a great way to de-stress. I would definitely recommend going to this museum to have a relaxing time.
